SurfSide Dog is locally owned and operated by Kari Aversa. It was created after she had been working for about 15 years in a series of high stress careers, some of which she enjoyed, and others...not so much! When the economy took a nose dive in 2008, like others, she found herself searching for stability and yearning to find a job that would allow her to wake up every morning and go to work with a smile on her face. In 2012, she decided she had enough of the rat race, and left her current job to pick up work as a full time dog walker for a premier dog walking company in Northern Baltimore County. She hasn't looked back since!

      She had finally found something that combined her passion for animals and her love for the great outdoors. In her eyes, nothing could be better! Kari has always had an amazingly close connection with all animals, and has always been a Mom to a household of pets (dogs, fish, cats, lizards, you name it!). During her employment as a dog walker in Baltimore County, she learned the valuable knowledge and tools to truly understand what customers appreciate in a dog walking and pet sitting service. After moving to the Eastern Shore, she decided to start her own company, and in doing so, SurfSide Dog was born.
